The blending of mystical and historical symbols creates the narrative of my work. The inspiration comes from an ancient practice called Light Language.
These paintings become tablets, plaster skimmed birch panels into which I physically carve . Many layers are painted using acrylic paint, rubbed away and burnished to evoke an ancient feel.
I have been working with symbols such as these much of my life incorporating them into paintings and drawings. They express a language to me, perhaps ficticious, perhaps not; that remains part of the mystery.
Color, sound, sacred geometry, these are all things that draw my attention while creating and moving through the world. Many of these paintings hold layers upon layers of information seen and unseen, just like magic...
